The first customer, standing, is resting his hand on his hip and has his foot propped on a small shoe shining box, while a young man is crouched down shining his shoes. Another worker, who is hunched over with a towel in his hand, is shining the shoes of the man sitting on a large shoe shining box. The last man seen is drinking a cup of joe and waiting his turn to have his shoes shine; he is sitting on the big shoe box, too.
