our most popular and useful colors, textures and blends.
Flock & Turfs are ground foams
and static flocks specially formulated for modeling grasses, soils and
various natural scenery textures. Flock & Turf may be used
directly from the container or blended with other materials to achieve
the result your scene requires. Be creative! Nature is very chaotic and
random... it has no rules... things just have their own way of evolving
one on top of another.
To apply Flock & Turfs a coating of adhesive must first be applied. Undiluted white
glue works best. Brush a thick coat of glue to the desired areas and
quickly apply Flock & Turfs.
Sprinkle finer base foams first and
layer more coarse textures on top. For realism mix a variety of
materials such as lichens, deadfall and debris to achieve natural
random growth. Allow base adhesive to dry. Use a soft paintbrush to
reposition and collect undesired loose materials.
Gently mist with a fine spray of
Prepared Matte Medium for permanence. Allow to dry. It is
recommended that a second coat of Matte Medium be applied to
heavily used areas like rail yards & staging areas.
